Sept 10 ORHS Foundation Craft Faire Enjoyed By All!

On Sept 10, around 200-300 community members attended the first joint Performing Arts and ORHS Community Foundation fund raiser, a craft faire. In addition to 60+ crafters selling everything from hand carved wooden bowls to original photography to lawn art to personalized quillows, (i.e. quilts that fold into pillows), guests enjoyed outstanding performances by our own gifted ORHS choir, drama students, and band members. Vendors and guests alike were treated to the ORHS "Sweet Adeline" quartet--a ladies' version of the barbershop quartet-- kicking off the faire with the National Anthem. Next came the marching band which caused many attendees to remark, "Is that really a high school band?". The ORHS choir, the ORHS dance team, and finally the roaming Charles Dickens's Carolers were also a big hit.

The craft faire was the first fundraiser specifically designed for raising funds to improve the existing ORHS Performing Arts Building. Planned improvements include adding a dedicated choir room, additional bathrooms, and a "real" ladies changing room for our actors. Watch for information on next year's fall fund raiser and thank you for your continued support as a community.
